Serious side effects of treatment of localized prostate cancer affect urinary, bowel and sexual function. Recent evidence has suggested that for patients undergoing radical prostatectomy, urologists with a lot of practice prostatectomy, perhaps the best patient results. Although historically, reports of these side effects in the literature, as a rule, they alerted physicians to the retrospective analysis, there is a lot of effort by many researchers using modern quality of life assessment tools to quantify more precisely the impact of local therapy on long-term quality of life. These estimates should be used by patients and doctors to help make decisions about treatment.
